Reginald Rhodes came to GMC in 2019 as the Defensive Line Coach. Rhodes was born in Augusta, GA but raised in Milledgeville, GA. He was a two-sport athlete at Baldwin High School and a three year letterman in football and basketball. Coach Rhodes is a former All-State linebacker and defensive player of the year. Coach Rhodes played at GMC where he was a two year starter and played on the 1999 Golden Isle Bowl Championship team. Rhodes continued his education at Valdosta State University and was a two time all conference player in the Division II National Championship team in 2002. Coach Rhodes earned a degree in Criminal Justice from VSU and a minor in History. He signed with the B.C. Lion in the CFL in 2003 and played one season and later signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2004. The Chiefs allocated Rhodes to go into the National Football of Europe (NFLE) where he played for the Cologne Centuries. He was later drafted as a free agent by the Berlin Thuner where they went 8-2 and played in the World Bowl. In 2005, Rhodes signed with the Miami Dolphins and played half the season before being released. He also played three years in the AFL with the L.A. Avengers and finished his career with the Columbus Destroyers in 2009.
