Georgia Military College earned a split with Gordon State College on Saturday, highlighted by a shutout performance in the opener and a hard-fought extra-inning battle in game two.
Claire Clements was dominant in the circle in the first game, allowing just three hits and no runs as GMC secured a 4–0 victory. The Bulldogs broke through in the third inning when Olivia Bridger singled to drive in the game's first run. GMC added three more in the fourth, sparked by solo home runs from Sophia Boutelle and Ana Land, giving Clements all the support she needed.
Game two saw Georgia Military College battle until the final inning, but Gordon State edged ahead late to claim a 5–4 win in eight innings. GMC erased a late deficit in the sixth, highlighted by a solo home run from Ana Land and a sacrifice fly from Mackenzi Trull to tie the game. Meredith Durden went the distance in the circle, keeping the Bulldogs within reach throughout.
Claire Clements and Ana Land led the offense in the nightcap with two hits apiece. Georgia Military College will travel to Andrew College for its next matchup on Tuesday, first pitch is at 2:00 PM.
