GMC Tops Brewton Parker in Strong Road Performance

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — March 6, 2026 — Georgia Military College softball turned in a dominant doubleheader sweep of Brewton-Parker College on Friday, winning 8–1 and 9–0 behind steady pitching, timely hitting, and flawless defense.

In the opener, the Bulldogs wasted no time building momentum. Claire Clements jump‑started the offense with an RBI double in the top of the first inning, setting the tone for the day. GMC added to its lead in the third when Jayne Kearson drove a ball down the right‑field line to make it 3–0.

From the circle, Meredith Durden anchored the defense with a complete-game performance, allowing only two hits and one run. Her consistency was backed by a crisp defensive effort, as the Bulldogs once again finished without committing an error.

Kearson played a key role offensively, driving in three runs on two hits. Olivia Bridger, Clements, and Kaiden Bradford each added two hits, fueling an attack that stayed aggressive on the bases and controlled the tempo start to finish.

In Game 2, the Bulldogs completed the sweep with a 9–0 shutout. Sophia Boutelle's sacrifice fly started the scoring in the third inning before GMC broke the game open with a five‑run outburst in the fifth. Mackenzi Trull's RBI single started the rally, followed by Turner's two‑run triple that energized the dugout and crowd. Bradford and Clements capped the inning with back‑to‑back run‑producing hits.

Jada Vickers tossed five scoreless innings without issuing a walk, while the GMC offense piled up 16 hits. Kayleigh Hester delivered a perfect 3‑for‑3 day, and Trull added two hits and three RBIs. Multiple Bulldogs contributed quality at‑bats as the team posted its second straight error‑free performance.

GMC returns to action Tuesday, March 10, hosting Rock Valley College. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
