GMC Softball Sweeps South Georgia State College

Milledgeville, Ga — Georgia Military College Softball swept South Georgia State College on Tuesday, earning 9–0 and 6–0 shutout victories. The Bulldogs relied on dominant pitching and a pair of decisive third‑inning outbursts to take control of both matchups and showcase their strength on both sides of the ball.

In the first game, Georgia Military College broke the score open with a six‑run third inning. Jayna Kearson got the scoring started with an RBI single, followed by a two‑run single from Sophia Boutelle, a two‑run single from Ana Land, and another run-producing hit by Kylee Keck. Boutelle had already put GMC ahead in the second inning with a solo home run to left field, setting the tone for the offense. Clements was outstanding in the circle, allowing only one hit over five shutout innings while striking out three and walking two. GMC recorded 11 hits in the game, with Kearson, Bridger, Boutelle, and Land each collecting two. The Bulldogs delivered a strong defensive performance, turning a double play and committing just one error.

The second game mirrored the first, as GMC again used a big third inning—this time producing five runs—to secure the 6–0 victory. Kearson launched a two‑run home run to right field, Clements doubled in another run, Land added a sacrifice fly, and Kayleigh Hester followed with a solo home run to left. Mackenzi Trull extended the lead in the sixth with a solo home run of her own. Durden delivered a commanding performance from the circle, surrendering just three hits in a complete‑game shutout. The Bulldogs played error‑free defense and turned another double play to support their pitcher. Offensively, Kearson led the way with a 2-for-3 effort and two RBI, while Bridger and Clements also contributed multiple hits.
