MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — Georgia Military College Softball delivered an impressive performance on Tuesday, sweeping CVCC with dominant wins of 13–2 and 14–2.
In GAME 1, GMC struck early, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first. Olivia Bridger and Jayna Kearson each delivered RBI singles before a CVCC defensive miscue added another run.
The Bulldogs continued to pour it on in the second inning. Ana Land launched a home run to center, followed by RBI hits from Kaiden Bradford and Bridger, and a sacrifice fly from Kearson to extend the lead to 7-0.
In the third, GMC added three more runs behind a two‑run double from Ella Ashley and an RBI single from Bradford, pushing the advantage to 10-0.
Claire Clements earned the win in the circle, throwing five innings while allowing two runs on five hits and striking out two.
GMC finished with 13 hits, led by leadoff standout Bradford, who posted a perfect 4-for-4 day. Kylee Keck, Bridger, and Land all recorded multiple hits, and Kearson added two more stolen bases to her team leading season total.
In Game 2, GMC wasted no time exploding for 11 runs in the second inning to take full control. Mackenzie Trull opened the scoring with a three-run single. Three batters later Olivia Bridger hit a bomb to right field to score three more runs. Trull picked up another RBI in her second at bat of the inning to cap the scoring.
GMC added another pair of runs in the third, to push the lead to 14–0 when Leah Longino launched a deep fly ball to the outfield that was misplayed, bringing the score to 14–0.
Meredith Durden delivered a steady start in the circle, going five innings while allowing just two runs on four hits and striking out two.
The Bulldogs tallied 12 hits, fueled by multi-hit efforts from Bridger, Clements, and Trull. Bridger and Trull each drove in three runs to lead the offense.
The Bulldogs open GCAA play on Saturday when the travel to Georgi Highlands College for a double header starting at 1:00 PM.
