JC Women’s team brings home the Championship at South Carolina Central Christian Invitational

Another strong day for the GMC Cross Country teams as we went to Columbia, South Carolina to compete in the SC Central Gladiator XC Classic.

Women:

GMC Women placed 6 in the top 9 and 7 in the top 11 as the won the  Women's race.  The Running Bulldogs were led by Katy Smith who finished in 3rd place, followed closely by Jessica Zukowsky in 4th, Kate Bouska in 5th and Ellie Glover in 6th.  Isabella Familia finished in 8th place, Claire Wagner in 9th and Alexa Yonelunas in 11th.  To add to the day, both Katy Smith and Kate Bouska ran qualifying times for the NJCAA National Championships.  The GMC Women's team now has five females qualified for the National Championships.

Men:

The men were once again Theodore Stevens who finished the race in a very strong 2nd place finish.  Raderian Martin finished in 5th , with Gavriel Avera 9th, Thomas Chew 10th and Corey Napper 15th as other scoring runners for GMC. The men's team finished in 2nd place only 5 points behind Voorhees College.  

 

Both teams are off until mid October where they will participate in the Dalton Hill n' Dale race.  This race will remember the life and spirit of former GMC MS runner Dalton Hill who passed away earlier in 2025.
